Event Details
The event will include listening workshops, films and speakers on the areas of health and social care you told us were most important to you – mental health, GP services, access to services and dementia. The event is free and there’ll be an ‘information buffet’ for you to pick up some information on local health and support services, a free raffle plus lunch and refreshments will be provided. This is your chance to share your experiences of care with those that provide them, and contribute to future plans. Come and join in the community conversation about your local health and social care services.
Workshops and talks include:
Healthwatch Northumberland – review of our year
Health Checks – why aren’t more people taking these (workshop)
Substance Misuse – assessing local needs (workshop)
Primary Care Networks – more about how GP surgeries are working together
Patient Participation Groups – what do they do? and how to get more involved with your local surgery
Social Prescribing – how community-based services can help with health issues (workshop)
A Space at the Table – Real life experiences of those caring for loved ones with dementia
Dementia ambulances – North East Ambulance Service shares the ideas behind its new vehicles
The Ageing Well Programme – a review of the programme in Northumberland. What is it like to grow old in Northumberland? (workshop)
Mental Health Trailblazer – work in Northumberland to improve access for children and young people (workshop)
Singing for the Brain – join a local group in some uplifting singing!
If you live or work in Northumberland we’d love to see you there. We may be able to help with transport from some areas of the county.
