SUMMARY:Online event - An introduction to ME/CFS
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday 27 June at 1pm for this rescheduled online event. \nWe will hear from Russell Fleming\, head of project development\, at The ME Association. Russell has had ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Encephalopathy)/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) for 25 years and was able to return to work 10 years ago\, first as a volunteer and now full-time from his home in Cornwall. \nThe ME Association provides effective support and expert information\, lobbies local and national governments and is working to improve healthcare for all. It prioritises prudent investment in medical research in the hope that one day there will be effective treatments and even a cure. \nSince the pandemic\, the charity has been welcoming people with Long Covid due to the many similarities with ME/CFS. \nWe will hear about recent healthcare and research developments\, how healthcare should work for you\, and we’ll discuss the best ways to manage these chronic infection-associated diseases. \nThere will also be a chance to ask questions. \nRegister now and we will send you a link to join closer to the event. \nSign up to our newsletter to hear about future events.
