Help Healthwatch Northumberland  to understand Patient Participation Groups

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to help us understand more about how the Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) in the county work and how they interact with the health service commissioners and providers.

Healthwatch Northumberland is committed to working in partnership with key groups in local communities and with decision makers, providers and commissioners of health and social care services.   We recognise that PPGs in GP practices are an important way in which local people can influence the services on offer, and how improvements can be made for the benefit of patients, carers and the practice.

The brief below tells you more about the work we would like to do and how you could help us to achieve it.   The closing date for submissions is 9.00am on 24 October.

Annual Report 2018-19

Our latest annual report was published this week. The report documents our activity over the past year; where we’ve been, who we’ve heard from and how we’ve made a difference to people who use health and social care services. We will be talking more about the report at our Conference on 16 October in Blyth, so please put that date in your diary – more details to follow soon.

Insight Report – Young People’s Mental Health Services

This report shares the insights from Healthwatch Northumberland’s on-going work to understand the different mental health services available for young people and the barriers they may face in using them.

Using the combined evidence from young people themselves and professionals in the statutory and voluntary sectors our aim is to highlight good practice and promote positive solutions to the commissioners and providers.

Community Information Morning – Hexham

The second of Adapt (NE)‘s Community Information events will take place on Wednesday 13 February, between 10.30am and 12.30pm in the Resource Room, next to Cafe at Burn Lane. This time you can get lots of advice and information from the NHS Patient Advice and Liaison Service, Age UK Northumberland, The Bridge Project, Carers Northumberland and Healthwatch Northumberland. Grab a cuppa from the cafe and come through for a chat with these local organisations who are here to support you with health, wellbeing, job and financial advice.
